A portion of Highway 70 Business East was closed for about one hour early Sunday after a vehicle caught fire.
The fire was reported around 4am near the intersection with Yelverton Grove Road, just east of I-95.
Fire crews arrived to find a BMW passenger car fully engulfed in flames.
According to JoCoFire.com the occupants were on their way home from a club when the car caught on fire. They said they had been having mechanical issues with the vehicle.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office assisted with traffic control.
