A Clayton man was arrested during a traffic stop Thursday on Cleveland Road outside of Smithfield.
Around 3:30am, a deputy sheriff stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. After approaching the car, the officer said he detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car and marijuana spilled on the drivers shirt.
The driver, identified as 22 year-old Rodriquez Rodrigo Gutierrez of Allen Road, reportedly told the officer he did not have any marijuana in the vehicle.
During a search of the car, marijuana, cocaine and ecstasy were reportedly found.
Gutierrez was arrested on four drug charges including felony possession of cocaine and felony possession of a controlled substance. He was transported to the Johnston County Jail where his bail was set at $20,000.
