Corinth Senior Wins Eaton Scholarship

Corinth Holders High senior Nicole Kroushl has been selected as a winner of the Eaton Scholarship, a special scholarship under the National Merit Scholarship Program. 

The Eaton Scholarship Program is administered by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, and each year 15 winners are chosen based on merit. Winners are high school seniors and selected on the basis of PSAT scores, academic records, leadership, extracurricular accomplishments and other standard requirements established by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

The $2,000 scholarship is renewable for four years of full-time study or until completion of a bachelor’s degree, whichever happens first.

Kroushl volunteers her time as President of the Coach Club to tutor other students, a National Honor Society member, President and Founder of the CHHS Writing Club, President of the CHHS Speech and Debate Team, Co-Captain on the Regional and World award-winning CHHS Color Guard Team, participates in the Blue Hearts Club and Art Patrons Club at CHHS, and is a UNCW Honors College Member and Class of 2015 Wilmington Fellow. 

Kroushl, the daughter of Caroline and Dan Kroushl, plans to attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in the fall of 2015 to major in creative writing and economics.
