A 33 year-old woman is accused of stealing a large sum of her mother’s savings.
Following an investigation, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) arrested Laura Megan Leveridge of Scotch Bonne Ridge, Clayton on Friday.
She allegedly stole an undisclosed amount of cash from her mother between December 2016 and April 2017.
Leveridge admitted to investigators she took the money, according to Sheriff’s Detective Lt. Mike Carson. Authorities were unable to recover any of the stolen money. They believe she had already spent the stolen cash.
Leveridge was charged with felony larceny.
