The Johnston County District Attorney’s Office finished first among 40 teams for most donations raised in the Walk Like MADD event at Lake Benson Park in Garner.  The June 3rd event was the Raleigh area fundraiser for Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

The Johnston County District Attorney’s Office formed “Team JoCo” and raised a total of $12,277, the most of all 40 teams participating in the event.

Overall, a total of $84,356 was raised for MADD efforts in North Carolina. Team JoCo was presented a first-place trophy at the end of the walk as the top fundraising team.

“We are so excited to be the top fundraising team for MADD and to bring this first place trophy to Johnston County,” stated District Attorney Susan Doyle. “My staff worked tirelessly to secure donations for this very worthy cause.  We could not have done it without the generous contributions from many law enforcement, attorneys, Johnston County private businesses, and friends and family members of my staff.”

“It takes all of us working together as a team to combat drunk driving. We are very grateful for their generosity and support,” Doyle added.
