An investigation by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office has led to the arrest of two people.
Narcotic agents were investigating information of suspected marijuana being sold out of a home on Melvin Court, off Braswell Road, east of Smithfield on Wednesday. During a search of the home marijuana and prescription pills were seized.
Randy Lynn Hill, 21, of the 800 block of Braswell Road, Smithfield was charged with three felonies: trafficking in opium or heroin, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, and possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana. He was confined in the Johnston County Jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
Caroline Barefoot Lewis, 24, of the 12000 block of Highway 50 South, Newton Grove was charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. She was released on a $1,000 bond.
