A 77 year-old Johnston County man was arrested on felony charges Thursday.
Eddie O’Neal of the 10000 block of Highway 42 East was charged with the February 8th theft of a 1999 Buick LeSabre from the driveway of a home. That same day, deputies allege O’Neal took the stolen car to a Clayton-area recycling facility where it was sold for scrap metal.
O’Neal was charged with felony larceny of a motor vehicle and felony obtaining property by false pretenses. Bail was set at $10,000.
The stolen car was reportedly crushed before officials learned it had been stolen.
