Meth, Pills Found During Traffic Stop

A small amount of suspected methamphetamine and several prescription pills were reportedly found in a car stopped around 5:00pm Thursday on Highway 42 West of Clayton.

The driver, Tyrone Best, 32, of Raleigh, was taken into custody on a 2016 warrant for failing to appear in court on a speeding charge. He was also found to be driving without a license.

During a search, meth and pills were allegedly found in his possession.

Best was charged with several offenses including driving on a revoked license, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, one felony count of possession of methamphetamines, and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

His bond was placed at $5,500.
