Princeton, Micro Mayors To Face Opposition

A contested race developed has developed for Mayor in the Towns of Princeton and Micro.

On Thursday, John Taylor Brantley of South Pine Street filed for the Princeton mayor’s seat.

Brantley is a teacher assistant at Smithfield Middle School.

He will challenge 7-term incumbent Mayor Don Rains, who filed July 8th for another two-year term.

In Micro, Walter J. Warren Jr. filed Tuesday for Mayor. 

Warren, a locomotive engineer for CSX Transportation, will challenge incumbent Micro Mayor Jim Wiesner who told WTSB News on Thursday he will file for his second term on Friday.  

The filing period for the 2015 municipal elections in Johnston County concludes on Friday, July 17th at Noon.
