Promise Walk at East Clayton Park

Each year more than 20,000 births in North Carolina are affected by preeclampsia, a condition that can lead to severe, life-threatening consequences to a pregnant woman and her baby.

Clayton resident Peyton Herring was born at 30 weeks weighing only 2 lbs., 12 oz.  Along with her mom, Molly, the family is coordinating “The Promise Walk for Preeclampsia”, an event that will be held on Saturday, May 16th at East Clayton Community Park, 1774 Glen Laurel Road.

On May 4, Peyton and Molly Herring accepted an office proclamation from the Town of Clayton honoring the Promise Walk.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the walk will start at 10 a.m. The day will feature a family friendly walk, refreshments, silent auction and raffle. Proceeds benefit the Preeclampsia Foundation.
