Rape Suspect Caught Peering Through Window Of Victims Home

A Harnett County man is in custody charged with the statutory rape of a 15 year-old Johnston County girl.

Michael Anthony Langley, 22, of Coats was arrested around 1:00amTuesday after the victim’s mother contacted Coats Police saying the suspect was looking through a window in her Johnston County residence.

Coats Police contacted Johnston County deputies, who later found Langley and took him into custody.

The incident was first reported to Coats Police in February after a complaint was filed with the Johnston County Department of Social Services. The 15 year-old victim was allegedly sexually assaulted in Coats. WTSB News has learned the child is now pregnant.

Langley was charged with statutory rape of a person 15 or younger, resisting a law enforcement officer and assault on a female. He is also charged with violating parole.

Langley has seven prior convictions for larceny of a motor vehicle and two counts of misdemeanor larceny.

He is being held in the Johnston County Jail.
