A Selma man is being held in the Wayne County Jail under a $200,000 bond after being linked to a shooting last month near Pikeville.
On May 1st, an adult and a child were inside a home on Boyette Pond Road when someone fired several rounds from a gun into the residence.
Wayne County deputies began interviewing witnesses and started following up on leads.
With the assistance of the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, Phillip Matthew Lownes, 34, of the 4600 block of Buffalo Road has now been arrested.
Lownes is charged with two counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, 2 counts of felony discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling, and one count of felony conspiracy.
The investigation is continuing and additional arrests have not been ruled out.
A motive for the shooting was not disclosed.
