Stop Sticks Ends 100 MPH Chase

A pursuit on Highway 70 in Johnston County early Monday morning ended when deputies were able to deploy stops sticks deflating two tires on the suspects truck.

Around 3:00 am today, Wilson’s Mills Police attempted to stop a truck for speeding 100 miles per hour on US 70 near Strickland Road. The driver failed to pull over. Johnston County deputies joined the chase and were able to deploy sticks on US 70 near Pine Level. The vehicle pulled into the parking lot of the BP station on US70 at Peedin Road and the driver surrendered.

Samual Aaron Moody, 23, of Goldsboro is facing multiple charges including driving while impaired, fleeing to elude arrest and exceeding the posted speed limit.
