Thanks to an alert eyewitness an arrest was made in an attempted car break-in Friday at an apartment complex near the I-40 / NC 42 interchange in the Cleveland community.
A resident called 911 after seeing a man try to break into a Buick parked in front of an apartment on Blue Peak Drive.
When he was spotted he ran to a nearby motel.
Deputies arrived and located the suspect inside a motel room.
Willie Jamal Manigault, 26, of Raleigh was charged with attempted breaking and entering a motor vehicle. The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said the incident appears to have been isolated.
Manigault was released on a $2,000 bond.
