Authorities are searching for both the victim and suspect following a reported stabbing in a restaurant parking lot.
Around 8:45pm Tuesday, Johnston County deputies responded to a frantic 911 call reporting a stabbing outside Applebee’s on South Park Drive at the I-40 / NC 42 interchange.
According to several bystanders, a female was standing beside a male in the parking lot screaming she had just stabbed the man. Before emergency crews could arrive on the scene, the male told the female to get into a car and they both sped away.
Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Caldwell said there is little information to go on. The car had a Florida license plate.
Deputies checked area hospitals but no one checked into any local emergency departments for treatment for a stab wound.
Caldwell said its unknown how severely the victim was stabbed or the relationship between the man and woman. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident who could provide more details is asked to contact the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office at 919-989-5000. Callers can remain anonymous.
