Woman Critically Injured After Falling From Jeep

A 39 year-old woman was critically hurt following an accident Tuesday night in western Johnston County.  Emergency crews responded to the accident on White Memorial Church Road off Highway 210 about 10:45pm.

The NC Highway Patrol said a lifted Jeep Wrangler without any doors was traveling northbound on White Memorial Church Road when the passenger, Pepper Ann White of Fuquay Varina, removed her seat belt. As the driver was entering a curve White fell from the vehicle and sustained critical injuries.

A spokesperson for the Highway Patrol said troopers are investigating the possibility alcohol played a factor.

The driver of the Jeep, James Jewell Hobaugh, 53, of Benson was not injured. Charges are pending.
