$1.1 Million In Illegal Narcotics Seized

An ongoing investigation by the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Division has resulted in the confiscation of a large amount of illegal narcotics, cash, guns and vehicles.

On March 26th, a search warrant was executed on Hunt Lane near Clinton. During the search warrant, 44 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, 16 pounds of cocaine, 1221 counterfeit pills containing fentanyl, four rifles, two pistols, two vehicles and $38,000 in US cash were located. The drugs had an estimated street value of $1.1 million.

Rumulo Medran, 32, of Hunt Lane, Clinton was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for the sale of a controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle for the sale of a controlled substance, and five counts of possession of a firearm by a felon. Medrano was held on a $1 million bond at the Sampson County Jail.
