A routine vehicle stop for a traffic violation on Interstate 40 on Sunday yielded approximately 17 pounds of cocaine.
The Sampson County Sheriff’s Office seized the drugs and arrested the three occupants in the car, who are now being held under a one million dollar bond each.
Felix Junior Agosto Garcia, 35, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Hector Guillermo Ruiz, 27, of Teachey, NC and Edwin Johnny Fuentes, 41, of Elizabeth, New Jersey are charged with cocaine trafficking and drug conspiracy violations.
“Through the proactive and diligent efforts of deputies, these drugs and dealers have been removed from the streets,” stated Sampson County Sheriff Jimmy Thornton. “I applaud the dedication of my deputies in their continued pursuit in fighting to keep drugs off our streets.”
The drugs had a potential street value of $770,000.
