17 Year-Old Link To Armed Robbery Of Ex-Girlfriend In Store Parking Lot

A 17 year-old is facing robbery charges after he allegedly assaulted and robbed his ex-girlfriend in the parking lot of a Johnston County grocery store.

The 18 year-old victim who is from Willow Spring said she agreed to meet with her ex-boyfriend in the parking lot of Harris Teeter on Highway 42 at Buffalo Road near Clayton around 2:00am Friday.

After arriving, the victim said James Carlos Jaquin of Mission Belle Lane, Zebulon struck her.  Jaquin the alleged armed himself with a baseball bat which he began swinging towards her. He was also armed with a knife during the incident.   The victim said Jaquin grabbed her iPhone and fled.

Jaquin was located by officers Sunday night and arrested on a felony warrant charging him with robbery with a dangerous weapon.  The ex-girlfriend received minor injuries during the incident. The stolen cell phone was not recovered.

According to his arrest report, Jaquin is a student at Corinth Holders High School.  Johnston County School officials have not responded to email requests from WTSB attempting to confirm this information.
