Selma Police have arrested two people and are looking for a third individual following a foot chase and the search of a motel room. Around 12:40 am Saturday, an officer on patrol spotted two suspicious persons near the former Green Hornet Grill on US 70-A at US 70. Police detained one suspect but the second fled on foot. A Johnston County Sheriff’s Office K-9 tracked the suspect into a wood area next to Interstate 95 but the individual managed to elude apprehension.
Police identified the suspect in custody as 28 year-old John David Stallings of Rocky Mount. Officers said he had several burglary tools in a black bag when he was detained.
Police returned to his motel room at the Days Inn and located Brandy Carol Thomas, 41, of Rocky Mount in the room. She was wanted by Nash County authorities on two probation violation warrants. She was also charged with obstruction of justice.
Officers said they found heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the room. A vehicle the suspects had at the motel was registered to an individual in Virginia and was seized until the ownership of the vehicle could be confirmed.
Warrants were obtained for the suspect who fled on foot, identified by police as Gordon Ray Price Jr., 35, of Macclesfield, NC. Once located he will face charges that include possession of burglary tools, possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and obstruction of justice.
In addition to the narcotics, police seized a knife, pipe cutter, screw driver, vice grips, wrench and head band flashlight.
