While a Johnston County couple was out of town two weeks ago their teenage daughter hosted a party. Authorities said several people who attended the party stole thousands of dollars in property from the couple.
The victims reported their items missing on Jan. 26th after returning to their Clayton-area residence and discovering TV’s, XBox game systems, money, gift cards, a watch, crossbow and cordless saw were missing.
On Sunday, three arrests were made in the thefts.
Aaron William Houghton, 23, of Cole Road, Clayton; Demetrius Earl Smith Jr., 21, of Bent Branch Loop, Clayton; and Kayla Renee Wojtkowski, 19, of Bent Branch Loop, Clayton were all charged with felony larceny and felony conspiracy.
Houghton was given the highest bond of $160,000. Smith was held under a $60,000 bond. Bail for Wojtkowski was set at $10,000.
Johnston County Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Caldwell said a total of $2,683 in items were taken. As of Monday, $1,880 worth of the stolen property had been recovered.
