3 Arrests Made In Selma-Area Home Invasion

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office has arrested three people they say were involved in a home invasion and robbery near Selma last month.

In the early morning hours of September 13th, authorities said two people burst into a home in the 1000 block of Pine Level-Micro Road and discharged a firearm.  The suspects bound the victim then stole cash, an iPhone and clothing.

Sheriff’s detectives have now charged Bobby LeShawn Byrd, 40, of the 800 block of Cleveland Road, Smithfield; Elias Earl Sanders, 28, of Johnson Street, Lucama; and Brandi Brantley, 24, of Maybrook Drive, Raleigh.

Byrd and Sanders were charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and felony conspiracy.

Brantley was charged with accessory after the fact and obstruction of justice.  Investigators allege she allowed the suspects to borrow her vehicle and while being questioned about her involvement made false statements.

Sanders is being held in the Johnston County Jail under a $1 million bond. Byrd was held under a $408,000 bond. Brantley was released on a $5,000 bond.
