WILSON’S MILLS – Police in Wilson’s Mills are asking residents to keep their cars locked after two car break-ins in the Ives Landing subdivision on Southerland Road.
On November 7th, a resident on Woodglen Drive reported two guns and money were stolen from his vehicle. That same morning, a resident on Ventura Drive reported their car was entered and a gun in the glove compartment was missing.
Police Chief A.Z. Williams said there was no force entry used in either of the thefts. The incidents are believed to have occurred between 12:00 midnight and 5:00am.
Chief Williams said Wilson’s Mills and surrounding areas have experienced a rash of car break-ins within the past year. In nearly all the cases, the cars had been left unlocked.
The police chief added, “We have pleased with residents in the past via Facebook to keep their vehicles locked. This crime is preventable.”
