BENSON – Three kilos of cocaine were located inside a car during a traffic stop on Interstate 40 in Johnston County. A deputy sheriff stopped a vehicle Friday night for a violation. The officer then requested assistance from a narcotics detective.
During a search of the vehicle the cocaine was located. Officials said the drugs had a potential street value of $100,000.
Ulises Montano Rodriguez, 29, of Oak Wood Drive, Angier was charged with three counts of trafficking in cocaine, one count of conspiracy to traffic cocaine and maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance.
Rodriguez was held on a $2 million secured bond at the Johnston County Jail.
We need STRONGER ordinances and laws against drug trafficking. Firing squads sound about right.
Ha, they act like this “traffic stop” was just a routine stop. Someone totally told them he was hauling drugs.
