4 Ounces Of Marijuana Found During Traffic Stop

A teenager was arrested Thursday night on felony drug possession charges during a traffic stop on Raleigh Road outside of Benson.

Shortly after 8:00pm, a Johnston County deputy was conducting a building check at a business when he spotted a car reportedly drive past at a high rate of speed.  The officer caught up with the vehicle still speeding and weaving and conducted a traffic stop on Highway 210 near Raleigh Road.

When the driver rolled down the window to the car the officer said he detected a strong odor of marijuana. During a search of the car, several bags of marijuana weighing a total of 4 ounces were allegedly found along with two weighing scales.

Charles Junior Moore, 18, of Wickerleaf Drive, Garner was charged with felony possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, felony maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Moore was taken before a magistrate where bail was set at $10,000.
