5 Arrested During Smithfield Drug Search Warrant

Five people were arrested, four on drug charges, during a raid at a home on Forbes Drive on Monday afternoon.

Smithfield Police Captain R. Sheppard said patrol officers received numerous complaints about possible drug activity at the address. The information was passed along to narcotic detectives  who conducted an investigation which resulted in Monday’s search warrant.

During the search 8.2 grams of suspected methamphetamine, needles, digital scales, money, and a book with a hidden compartment was located and seized.

Charles Brian Spencer, 40, of Forbes Drive, Smithfield was charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver methamphetamine and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance.  Bond was placed at $50,000.

Melissa Marie Walker, 33, of Hockaday Road, Four Oaks was charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver methamphetamine. Bond was set at $20,000.

Mary Elizabeth High, 37, of Brogden Road, Smithfield was charged with possession of methamphetamines. Bail was placed at $30,000.

Jessica Rena Martin, 31, of NC 39 South, Louisburg was charged with possession of methamphetamines and obstruction of justice for allegedly providing a fictitious name. Bail was placed at $35,000.

A fifth person at the Forbes Drive address was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant.  Clifford Thomas Allen, 28, of Godwin Lake Road, Benson was arrested on a failure to comply warrant. He was not charged with any drug offenses. Allen was given a $375 bond.
