Smithfield Police are investigating another snatch and grab theft at a local jewelry store. The latest incident happened Wednesday night.
A man went inside Kay Jewelers on Outlet Center Drive and asked to see a necklace. The suspect grabbed the $5,999 necklace from an employee and fled out the door. The suspect was wearing a COVID-style face mask preventing employees from giving police a good description.
Police have not ruled out the incident could be linked to the November 22nd theft of a $7,240 bracelet stolen from Zales Outlet on Outlet Center Drive. In August, a $19,380 necklace was also stolen from the same Zales store during another snatch and grab robbery.
No injuries were reported.
