Deputies allege Jason Thomas Carey of Old Grantham Road, Goldsboro attempted to purchase a Teenage Mutant action figure, valued at $29.96, and a Gremlin Gizma figure, valued at $15.96, but switched the price tags on the items so they would ring up at a lesser amount at the checkout register.

Carey was charged with larceny by changing the price tag, a misdemeanor. A routine background check located two Wayne County arrest warrants on the 47 year-old man. Carey was served with the warrants charging him with domestic assault on a female and communicating threats.
