Agents Make Major Steroid Bust

Narcotic agents with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office seized a large quantity of steroids during a drug bust last week.

On April 30th, an undercover investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a home at 311 Barewood Drive off Elevation Road outside of Four Oaks.   Authorities said the address was the home of 43 year-old Keith Joseph Knaus.

Knaus and a second man, Michael Steven Lambert, 34, of Smith Basin Lane, Raleigh were charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.

Agents said nearly two kilos of steroids were seized from the home.

Anabolic steroids are a form of synthetic testosterone that may be prescribed by doctors but are illegal for use without a prescription.  It is legal to possess steroids for personal use but the importation of steroids for personal use using postal and freight services is illegal.
