ONE COMMUNITY, Signing Up to Save Lives!
Together, we will beat CANCER!
Schella Sprowl, a junior at Corinth Holders High School will be hosting a community wide Blood Drive this Saturday, March 13th. Schella, a candidate for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Students of the Year campaign, was nominated by Corbin Brogdon, a senior at Clayton High School who was last year’s Student of the Year winner for NC.
Schella has dedicated her campaign in memory of her grandmother, Mippy, who gracefully fought many different types of cancers and in honor of her grandfather, Popie, who has beat cancer twice, specifically Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and Prostate cancer.
The Students of the Year is a seven week competitive fundraising campaign that selected high school students raise funds to support the mission of LLS. The candidates form and lead a team (Schella’s Dream Team) of family and friends to help them raise funds. At the end of the seven weeks the title of “Student of the Year” is awarded to the candidate who raises the most money during the competition. Not only does this campaign support the life-saving mission of LLS, it also supports student leaders in the community and helps them grow upon or begin to develop many professional skills.
The Blood Drive will be held this Saturday, March 13th from 9:00am – 2:00pm at the Archer Lodge Community Center located at 14009 Buffalo Road, Archer Lodge. $20.00 per blood donation will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
