Army Reserve Soldier Arrested For Sexual Battery

A member of the US Army Reserve is facing sexual battery charges following an incident involving another solider while in Johnston County.

The incident was reported on February 15th at a location near Four Oaks.

A fellow soldier filed the complaint with the US Army Criminal Investigation Command (CID) who in turn alerted the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.

Brandon James Driver, 26, of Old Carriage Road, Rocky Mount, a member of the US Army Reserve unit in Knightdale, was arrested Monday afternoon and charged with misdemeanor sexual battery.

Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Caldwell said the assault occurred on drill weekend at the home of an individual and not on a military base.

Driver was released on a $1,000 bond.
