Arrest Made In Cleveland Business Robbery

Law enforcement officers didn’t have to go very far to arrest a suspect in Monday’s robbery of the Exxon / Coryea Corner Store at 10525 Cleveland Road.

Around 5:00pm, Johnston County deputies said the suspect entered the adjacent Dollar General store and allegedly shoplifted merchandise.  The suspect then went next door to the Exxon and also shoplifted merchandise before approaching the owner who was working behind the counter, took an undisclosed amount of money, then fled out the door. No weapon was displayed.

Tuesday night, Steven Blake Reaves of Katherine Drive, Garner, a nearby address in the South Gate subdivision off South Shiloh Road, was arrested for common law robbery and two counts of misdemeanor larceny.  Reaves, whose arrest report listed as being unemployed, was held in the Johnston County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
