Police have recovered a vehicle stolen during a robbery earlier this week in Smithfield. Authorities said the incident appears to have been domestic related and was not random.
A 33 year-old Georgia woman reported Monday that she was at an address on Massey Street when a male acquaintance forcibly stole her keys and took her Hyundai SUV. No weapons were displayed and the victim was not harmed. The stolen SUV was later recovered by Smithfield Police.
Quentin Lee Evans, 27, of Park Place Street, Angier was arrested by Smithfield Police and charged with common law robbery and larceny of a motor vehicle. Evans was also wanted at the time of his arrest for a Feb. 2019 probation violation warrant from Harnett County.
Evans was held under a $40,000 bond in the Johnston County Jail.
