Benson Shooting Victims Identified

Suspect Apprehended After Wrecking Stolen Truck

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of three people shot and killed plus a fourth person wounded Monday night at 4640 Woods Crossroads Road in the Meadow community outside of Benson.

At 8:54pm, deputies responded to a report of multiple people being shot at the address.

Deputies arrived and found four people suffering from gunshot wounds.  Three were pronounced dead at the scene. They include: Pamela Jean Ramon, 27; Ledis Alberto Lopez, 36; and Jessica Rubioa Agular, 27.

The fourth victim, Jose Rubio Arguilar, 30, was transported to Wake Medical Center where he is listed in serious condition.

The suspect, Armando Martinez, 40, of the same address, fled in one of the victim’s vehicles, a red Chevy S-10 pickup. The truck was later wrecked in Harnett County where Martinez was taken into custody by Harnett County deputies.

Armando Martinez was transported back to the Johnston County Jail and formally charged Tuesday morning with three counts of first degree murder, one count of attempted murder, and one count of larceny of a motor vehicle.  Martinez is being held without bond.

In a press release from Sheriff Steve Bizzell authorities said the shootings followed a verbal altercation in the home. All four of the victims are either family members or a close friend of the alleged gunman.
