
Benton Sawrey secured the NC State Senate District 10 Republican Primary Tuesday in a hard fought race over two opponents.
In a closely watched race across Johnston County, Mr. Sawrey obtained two-thirds of the votes cast over Jill Homan and Matt Ansley.
In unofficial results Tuesday night, with all precincts reporting, Sawrey had 12,275 of the ballots (66%), Homan 3,713 ballots (20%), and Ansley 2,720 ballots (14%).
Sawrey picked up several key endorsements along the way in the District 10 Senate campaign including Lt. Governor Mark Robinson, District Attorney Susan Doyle, and Sheriff Steve Bizzell.
