Boil Water Advisory Lifted For Southern Johnston County Water Customers

Update Sat. Aug 17 11:07AM – The Boil Water Advisory has been lifted for customers in the Meadow and Ingrams communities who were without water Thursday night due to a water main break.

BENSON – Johnston County Public Utility customers in the Meadow and Ingrams Water Districts may have experienced a water loss following a water main break late today (Thursday). The break occurred in a line on Highway 96 South between Wood’s Crossroads Road and Noah Road in southern Johnston County.

The water main break caused widespread pressure fluctuations. Any customers who had no water following the break should boil their water for at least the next 24 hours. Any tap water for human consumption should be boiled vigorously for at least one full minute prior to use.

Officials anticipate the break to be repaired and water service fully restored by 4:00AM Friday.

Johnston County Public Utilities will issue notice when the Boil Water Advisory is no longer in place. For additional information on boil water advisories visit this link.
