Break-In Reported At Smithfield Restaurant

SMITHFIELD – An undisclosed amount of money was stolen from a Smithfield restaurant during an early morning break-in. On May 10th at 3:07am, Smithfield Police responded to a burglary alarm at Kobe Steakhouse at 101 Venture Drive.

Officers arrived to find the front glass door had been broken out and entry had been made. The business and surrounding area was searched by officers and a K-9 but no one was located.

Video from the business showed an unknown race or sex person dressed in all black, wearing gloves and a black head wrap break the glass door with a large rock and enter. The burglar ran out of the business with a cash drawer containing money.

Surveillance images of the suspect have not yet been made available. The investigation is ongoing by police detectives.

  1. When I was a cashier you had to know certain numbers to open the cash register. Just saying, they ran out with the cash register drawer.
