A traffic stop Monday afternoon on Highway 50 near McGee’s Crossroads resulted in the arrest of a Burlington, NC man on numerous charges.
At 1:40PM, a SAFE Team deputy stopped a 1997 Nissan for a violation. The driver, 39 year-old Jason Braxton Cook, was reportedly found to have small amounts of suspected methamphetamines, marijuana and Suboxone in his possession.
Cook was charged with felony possession of methamphetamines, felony possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana, marijuana paraphernalia and drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Johnston County Jail where his bond was set at $45,500.
The Nissan he was driving was also impounded.
