Catalytic Converters Stolen From 8 Work Vehicles

CLAYTON – Deputies are investigating the theft of catalytic converters from eight box trucks owned by Carolina Comfort Air of Clayton. The vehicles were parked outside the business, at 5212 US 70 Business Highway West, over the Memorial Day Weekend when the thefts occurred.

An employee arriving at work on May 30 discovered the thefts and notified the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.

It will cost approximately $10,000 to replace the stolen converters, according to the sheriff’s office incident report.

  1. This will never stop until recyclers aren’t allowed to buy them from people who have no business having them.
