Chase Of Child Abduction Suspect Ends In Johnston County

BENSON – A chase of an accused child abductor in Robeson County ended without injury in Benson Friday night.

The driver reportedly took a young child at gunpoint before the chase started. Officers from the N.C. State Highway Patrol, Robeson County, Cumberland County, Harnett County, Johnston County and Benson assisted in the chase.

It ended in the parking lot of a Short Stop Food Mart near Char-Grill at 904 E. Main St. around 7 p.m.

The child was evaluated by Johnston County EMS and released to a family member at the scene.

  1. It doesn’t say that he only got a ticket, it just says the chase ended. Pretty sure he was arrested on felony charges if he took a child at gunpoint and ran from authorities.
