Clayton Man Arrested For Assaulting, Kidnapping Wife

A Clayton man was arrested Saturday night and jailed without bond after he allegedly seriously beat his wife then refused to allow her to leave their home off Guy Road just outside the Clayton city limits.

Johnston County sheriff’s deputies received a request to check on the welfare of the female victim. When they arrived, Damir Kekic, 50, answered the door and reportedly said his wife was okay and was asleep.

The officer said Kekic acted suspicious and requested to see the woman in person to confirm she was not in any danger.  Kekic then attempted to close the front door on the deputy just as the woman emerged from another room and said, “Help me!”

The officer prevented Kekic from closing the door and detained him.

Deputies allege Kekic used his fist to severely beat the female victim about the face and head and then refused to allow her to leave the home.

Kekic, who reportedly intoxicated, was charged with felony assault inflicting serious bodily injury, second degree kidnapping, and communicating threats. He was held without bond Saturday night in the Johnston County Jail.
