A 23 year-old Clayton man was arrested for driving while impaired and his car was also impounded during a traffic stop. It happened around 12:50am Saturday in the 5700 block of Little Creek Church Road near Clayton.
A Johnston County deputy was on patrol on Little Creek Church Road and clocked a Volkswagen Jetta speeding 69mph in a 55mph zone. The deputy stopped the car and immediately detected an odor of alcohol coming from the driver.
The driver, Terrance Adam Stephens Jr. of Randolph Drive, had a slurred speech and allegedly admitted to drinking before driving.
Authorities said Stephens registered 0.10 on the Breathalyzer, above the legal limit of 0.08. He was given a $5,000 secured bond.
