A Sampson County man was reportedly caught with a large quantity of cocaine during a traffic stop in Nash County.
According to the Nash County Sheriff’s Office, a patrol officer observed a Nissan Altima commit a traffic violation on US 64 near South Old Franklin Road. The officer pulled over the vehicle and during a search of the car located 200 grams of powder cocaine in the center console. The cocaine had a potential street value of $20,000.
Jaquan Fredrick McLean, 20, of Pearl Street, Clinton and Areona Alyzah Middleton, 20, of Elm Street, Weldon, NC were charged with trafficking in cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, and maintaining a vehicle for controlled substance.
Both received a $75,000 secured bond.
