Cleveland Walmart Employee Charged With 5 Felonies

A 49 year-old employee at Walmart on Highway 42 in Cleveland was arrested Sunday and charged with five felonies.

Johnston County deputies said they had been investigating Michael Leonard James of Garner since May 21st. That’s when loss prevention personnel at Walmart reported James had allegedly stolen items from the business on five different occasions.   The items included $78 in bras, a $3 box of cookies, car light bulbs, Febreze air fresheners, and Mucinex sinus medication.  Combined the items were valued at approximately $150.

James was charged with five felony counts of larceny by an employee.  He was transported to the Johnston County Jail on Sunday. A magistrate placed his bail at $50,000.
