Cocaine and marijuana were allegedly seized from a driver Monday afternoon after being pulled over for an expired license plate.
The traffic stop occurred around 2:00 PM on Amelia Church Road. When a deputy sheriff approached the car he said he detected a strong odor of marijuana. When asked about the smell, the driver identified as Earman Dee Adams, 33, of Slate Top Road, Clayton allegedly handed a small amount of marijuana to the officer.
When Adams was asked to step out of his vehicle, a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine fell from the vehicle and landed on the pavement.
Adams was taken into custody and charged with felony possession of cocaine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was given a $15,000 bond on the three drug charges.
