A construction worker was arrested on Thanksgiving Day for allegedly stealing construction material from a jobsite. Around 12:09am last Thursday, deputies received a report from a concerned citizen of a suspicious vehicle backed up to a new home under construction on Thunder Ridge Drive in the Cleveland community.
Officers arrived and located a truck with a plastic bag covering the license plate. The truck was loaded with roofing shingles recently delivered to the job site.
Authorities said the suspect was a construction worker but was not connected with the construction of that particular home.
Angelino Ramirez Ovalles, 30, of September Lane, Willow Spring was charged with the felonious larceny of 31 bundles of shingles valued at $713.00. The shingles were recovered. Ovalles was incarcerated in the Johnston County Jail under a $25,000 bond.
