A Harnett County couple was arrested Wednesday following an investigating into a sexual assault. On July 25th, 2021 the Harnett County Sheriff’s office launched a criminal investigation which reportedly uncovered information that multiple juveniles, between the ages of 14 and 15, had been sexually assaulted and/or provided alcohol. The events occurred between October 2020 and July 2021.
A search warrant was executed at the home of John and Bonnie Taylor in the 600 block of Tylerstone Drive, Fuquay Varina, a Harnett County address. Evidence collected during the search yielded multiple items of child sex abuse material, authorities said in a press release.
John and Bonnie Taylor were both arrested on August 3rd. John Taylor was charged with two counts of indecent liberties with a child, one count of third-degree sexual exploitation on a minor, and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
Bonnie Taylor was charged with one count of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. She was arrested by Fuquay Varina Police and held in the Wake County Detention Center on a $500 bond.
John Taylor was also served with charges stemming from a separate investigation being conducted by the Atlantic Beach Police Department. He was held in the Harnett County Detention Center on a $150,000 bond.
Authorities said the investigation is on-going and additional charges are possible. They also believe there could possibly be other juvenile victims.
