COVID Vaccination Appointments Available April 26-29

SMITHFIELD – The Johnston County Health Department has scheduled a first and second dose clinic, Monday April 26th – Thursday, April 29th, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. or until supplies last at the Johnston County Public Health Department located at 517 N. Bright Leaf Blvd in Smithfield. 

The COVID-19 vaccine is free of charge to all individuals, regardless of immigration or health insurance status.

The Health Department will be administering Moderna vaccine (age 18+) on Monday, April 26th and Tuesday, April 27th.  The Pfizer vaccine (age 16 +) will be administered on Wednesday, April 28th and Thursday, April 29th. Individuals under the age of 18 need an adult present to receive the vaccine.  Patients will need a second dose after the first dose (21 days for Pfizer and 28 days for Moderna).

Vaccinations will be administered by appointment at takemyshot.nc.gov or walk-in basis until our capacity of doses has been reached.  

Those seeking the vaccination should be aware that it is not recommended for those who have had another vaccine within the previous 14 days.  In addition, individuals who have an active COVID-19 infection (under isolation) or recent exposure to an individual with COVID-19 should defer receiving the vaccination until recovered or removed from quarantine.
