CSX officials will temporarily close several railroad crossings in Johnston, Harnett, Cumberland and Robeson counties for track maintenance.
Railroad maintenance crews began work on April 13th in Robeson County and will move northward into Cumberland, Harnett and Johnston counties. A crossing closure typically lasts three to five days.
The railroad plans to close four crossings in Johnston County the week of April 27th for maintenance. They include the crossings on Parkerstown Road, Oliver’s Grove Church Road, Camelia Road and Raleigh Road between Four Oaks and Benson.
CSX will also be temporarily closing 8 crossings in Harnett County the same week. The list includes crossings on Harnett Street, Edgerton Street, Broad Street, Cumberland Street, Divine Street, Pearsall Street, Duke Street and Arrowhead Road in Dunn.
Because of the size of work and the use of multiple crews, it’s impossible to say in advance which railroad crossing will close on which date.
Drivers should use caution on these roads near any railroad crossing and be prepared for a temporary closure. Signs will be placed for drivers to detour around the blocked crossing.
