SMITHFIELD – Detectives are investigating the reported robbery of a customer inside a local convenience store.
On November 4 around 1:25pm, police said a 28 year-old Benson man was inside the 76 Breeze Thru, at 703 E. Market Street. The victim displayed a large amount of cash to unknown individuals inside the store.
An individual who saw the money allegedly began scuffling with the victim. A second person then approaching saying he had a gun. The two suspects stole the large undisclosed sum of cash and fled.
Smithfield Police said they have identified the two suspects and charges are pending.
The victim sustained minor injuries.
